DAILY ITINERARY

Arrival Day: Friday, July 26: (Pre-tour day, stay at hotel near Chantilly not included in tour price except for those continuing from our Normandy Tour)

  • We will meet you at the airport and take you to the hotel.
  • Welcome apéritif and orientation at our hotel
Day 1: Saturday, July 27 (Hotel near Chantilly)
  • Château de Chantilly - guided tour of the 16th century masterpiece, the Condé Museum, park, formal gardens, and horse museum
  • Auvers-sur-Oise - a charming village of winding streets where Vincent Van Gogh did his now-famous painting of the village church during the final months of his life; the little cemetery where Vincent is buried next to his brother Theo.
  • Auver's Impressionist Museum - a unique experience that lets you walk back into the Paris at the height of the impressionist movement.
Day 2: Sunday, July 28 (Hotel in Paris)
  • Countryside drive from Chantilly to Paris.
  • Driving tour of Paris to orient you to the city.
  • Walking tour of one or more central neighborhoods: Quartier Latin, Île- de-la-Cité, Saint-Germain-des-Prés, and/or Luxembourg Gardens.
  • Château of Vaux-le-Vicomte - whose beauty so aroused the jealousy of Louis XIV that he hired the same architects to build his great Palace of Versailles.
Day 3: Monday, July 29 (Hotel in Paris)
  • Notre-Dame Cathedral and the Sainte-Chapelle -guided tour of these Gothic landmarks.
  • Promenade along the Champs-Élysees to Arch of Triumph and then view Paris from the Eiffel Tower.
  • The Louvre or use free time to explore on your own.
  • Explore Sacré-Coeur Basilica and Montmartre
  • Dinner at a famous cabaret café.
Day 4: Tuesday July 30 (Hotel in Paris)
  • Monuments or museums - choose from the Orsay, the Rodin, the Picasso, Impressionist Marmottan, the Cluny (tapestry of the Lady and the Unicorn), etc.
  • Free time or walk with the group along the Seine, explore Île-St- Louis, mansions of the Marais, Place de la Bastille, Place des Vosges (where Victor Hugo wrote Les Miserables).
  • Evening boat cruise on the Seine
Day 5: Wednesday July 31 (Au Revoir)
  • Breakfast
  • We will assist you with any further travel destinations or with getting to the airport."
